Is It Real? Is It Fake? How Can You Tell?

Generative AI now has the capacity to create really convincing “deepfakes” - lifelike videos, making it incredibly difficult to discern real from fake material.

Judge Scott Schlegal writes excellent articles on this topic, and his latest one hit my inbox this week.

It's an outstanding and balanced summary of the issues facing the judiciary and the legal profession with respect of the integrity of information.

If you're a lawyer, this is mandatory reading.

Hey, honestly, I believe everyone should read it and truly consider the head scratching and profound implications for both our personal and professional lives.

Life Is Short

This week, I came across something by Mel Robbins about the fragility of our time on this planet.

The first few minutes especially, is a poignant reminder especially for those of us who have children, as to how much time we spend with them in their early years.

Here it is.

Is Less More When It Comes To Being Productive?

Balancing work and life, juggling competing demands while also staying productive has been and remains a constant challenge for me.

I am sure it is for you too.

As I get older, I tend towards the "less is more" philosophy for when I draft my to-do list.

I'm also always mindful of the risk of wasting time or else burning myself out when executing off it.

Balancing these has been an almost daily effort for me.

I am a bit of a work in progress when it comes to this issue, continually testing and learning to enhance my productivity.

What I've found is that there is no one size fits all solution to this issue.

What works for me today may not work next week or next year. What works for me, may not be right for you.

So it comes as little surprise, that I'm currently reading Slow Productivity by Cal Newport, a university professor and productivity expert.

Spoiler Alert - he also supports my "less is more" approach.

Had Enough Of Working For Someone Else?

Fifteen years ago, I took the plunge and started my own practice.

It was one of the best professional decisions I ever made.

Back then, resources on what and how to do it were scarce.

But I found a gem of a book - "How to Start & Build a Law Practice" by Jay Foonberg. That book was my guide, my bible. I kept it next to my desk for years.

I still have it.

It is still around I see.

Now, I’m excited to introduce "Going into Practice on My Own," a new coaching program that we have put together for those ready to go solo.

This program offers comprehensive support to help you succeed in your entrepreneurial journey.

If you're ready to take control of your career, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.
