Quote Of The Week
“The minutes often dragged but the years tumbled over each other and disappeared” - Martin Amis
One Of My Favourite Podcasts Discusses How Hard Modern Leadership Is
I really enjoy listening to Linda Lacina from the World Economic Forum, and her podcast series - Meet The Leader.
One of the latest ones with Ty Wiggins - a CEO coach, really hits the mark on how complex and difficult leadership has become (it was never easy to start with!). It was really interesting to hear how he coaches CEOs, particularly new ones, as they adapt to their new roles in such an uncertain and ever-changing world.
Well worth a listen to if you are an executive and especially a CEO.
Two Things That Really Resonated With Me This Week.
1. It’s ok to say I don’t know.
2. It’s ok to be uncertain.

More Morgan Housel
I am a fan of his - why? Because his common sense and wisdom consistently shines through his work.
Last week, I told you that I had read his book Same As Ever twice recently.
This week, I turn to his short podcast on the topic of whether knowledge is cumulative or cyclical?
Most professionals are knowledge workers of some description, so I am sure you will find bits in it of interest and of real value.
Available here.
What Have I Been Working On?
I believe mentoring is such an important thing for professionals, managers and leaders. So I recently wrote a blogpiece about it.
I've also spent the last month or so crafting a 12-month mentoring program for professionals.
It’s designed to provide ongoing support and guidance, tailored to help you navigate your pathway to whatever.

What & How Long Does It Take Really To Realise Your Dreams?
Is your passion project taking longer than expected?
Writer Stephen Pressfield got published for the first time as an author at 52 years of age - decades of writing later.
So much wisdom here about pursuing your dreams, dealing with resistance and not self sabotaging yourself.
So much respect for him after listening to this.
A great podcast interview conducted by Mark Manson of The Subtle Art of Not giving A F … fame.

What Critical Trends Should You Be Paying Attention To?
It May Be Time For A Long Walk.
You choose - 90 minutes or 180 minutes! It depends what speed you want to play this podcast at or how long you wish to walk for!
This is a two part podcast by Modern Wisdom’s Chris Williamson interviewing Alex Hormozi a successful entrepreneur.
It is an honest dialogue about the truths about success and failure.
It is raw, honest and faces Alex Hormozi’s extensive experience in business dealings reflectively.
It is 3 hours long - as I said before you can listen at up to 2 x speed or normal but regardless a long walk is called for.
Throughly enjoyed listening to it.
It is in 2 parts here below.

Do You Wake Up In the Middle Of The Night?
3am ? 4am? Wide awake. Million things going through your mind? Something triggering you to check or do something? Thinking about where your life is heading?
I recently read a thought-provoking post by writer Maria Popova that perfectly captures this ethereal moment, drawing on Nathaniel Hawthorne’s writings.
It’s a time when our minds also wander through our deepest thoughts—our ambitions, regrets, and dreams.
